Meeting Report More than 300 people from across the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) attended the 2011 National Center for HIV/AIDs, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP) Health Equity Symposium in Atlanta, Georgia, on August 3, 2011. (See Appendix 1 for the symposium agenda.) The goal of the Symposium was to strengthen CDC’s leadership role in advancing health equity by increasing awareness, engagement, and action to address the social determinants of health (SDH) and highlighting the role of data in informing and improving public health policy, practice, and research.
